New Delhi [ANI], Oct 27 (ANI):  today the legal representatives of self-styled Godman Asaram Bapu will apply for an interim bail before the Supreme Court, in allegations with a rape case registered against ‘Bapu’in Gujarat.

Earlier in August, the Supreme Court had uttered concern over the postponement of the hearing of the case and had asked the Gujarat trial court to mull over Asaram Bapu's case without delay and finish the trial in a time-bound manner.

The Supreme Court had previously discarded Asaram's bail plea a number of times.

The Jodhpur Police took to Asaram ‘Bapu’ in detention on August 3, 2013, and since then, he is in prison.

In October last year, the Supreme Court had sought after the Centre's response and five states on a plea in quest of a Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI) probe into the alleged murder of children in the course of black magic and attacks on ten witnesses in Asaram's rape cases.

Asaram Bapu's son Narayan Sai, has also been allegedly named in connection with a rape case registered against him by the Gujarat state.
