Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a new scheme for rural electricity connections. Under which anybody can avail domestic electricity connection in any rural area of the state by paying an advance of Rs 200. 
 

Khattar announced the launch of the new scheme for the release of domestic power connections in rural areas of the state.  Khattar said the state government had initiated several schemes which had helped in reducing losses of the Power Department by 7 percent. Villages, where line losses had been reduced by 20 percent, were getting a 24-hour power supply. Panchkula, Ambala, Gurugram and Faridabad districts had been getting a 24-hour power supply.
 

It is said in the official release that the remaining balance of the connection can be done in simple installments of 100 to 200 rupees. At present, it has to be broken between 3,000 to 4,000 to get the connection. 

In the release, Chief Minister Khattar has said that the state government has initiated several schemes, which has reduced the loss of power distribution in the state by 7%. He further said that the Haryana Government will complete the promise of 24-hour electricity supply in the state in the next two years.

Previous governments had been instigating people not to pay their bills while they had been explaining and encouraging them to pay, he added.
