Many illegal activities take place if there is a strong political backing and if there remains no fear of getting arrested. Recently, a case came into light wherein the son of an MLA's brother was found smuggling alcohol in Kurnool district. Police suspect a man was riding a bike without a number plate from Kurnool to Gorland when he was taken into custody.

The man who had been drinking said that his name was Madhu. Police searched the bike on suspicion and found 9 bottles of liquor inside. Police seized them. Madhu was immediately taken to the police station. Such cases tend to shock the common man as if any such incident is committed by a common person then the cops do not think once and put the person behind the bars.

It seems that the leaders of the ruling party, who came to know about this matter, are putting pressure on the police. Gudur zone Nagalapuram police did not register a case till nightfall in this regard. There have been no investigations till now and no case has been registered under the Excise‌ Act. The full details of the incident are yet to be known. Smuggling from neighboring states has increased as the government has increased liquor prices massively in AP. But such incidents are eye-opening for the common man.
