Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of the attack by 5 stray dogs on an innocent three-year-old girl at Anjali Vihar Face-2 of Gardeners in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh capital. The dogs had severely scratched the baby. This incident took place last Saturday evening.
The girl's father was working as a labourer in an under-construction house on the above-covered campus. The baby was playing nearby. It was then that a herd of stray dogs suddenly attacked the baby and scratched her badly. The baby suffered deep injuries on the head, ears and hand and also suffered injuries at several places in the body.
The girl is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Taking cognizance of the serious matter, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has sought a response from municipal commissioner Bhopal and district administration Bhopal health ministry officials in the next 7 days. On behalf of the Commission, the Municipal Corporation and the Commissioner had asked Bhopal to give detailed information on these points:
Action taken under the Animal Birth Control (Dog's) Rules, 2001 has been reported.
- How many stray dogs have been sterilized in the year 2021? Give ward-wise information.
- How many rabid stray dogs have been thrown out of the city roads? It has also been reported ward-wise.
- The animal has copied monthly meetings of the monitoring committee under the Birth Control (Dog's) Rule.
- Ward-wise details of stray dog bites and action taken by the corporation on each incident have also been released.
- The compensation amount was paid to the father of the victim in the current incident.
- Copy of medical report of the victim in the current incident.
