The corona epidemic has been a challenging year and a half for the world, but the city is facing different problems. One of the problems in this city has become so severe that the situation has worsened not only to the local people but also to the retail stores present here. The city of San Francisco in the United States is known for its glare, but the city's retail stores have seen a sharp increase in thefts over the past few years. Thefts from retail stores of popular retail stores Wallgreens have increased so much that the company has to close 17 of its stores here. The video of an incident of theft at the Wallgreens store is also going viral on social media. In this video, one can see a man riding a bicycle filling the goods in black polythene and a woman and a person present there are making a video of it.
The thief goes out on his bicycle after collecting the goods and the people present there are not able to do anything. The situation in San Francisco is so bad that CVS Retail Corporation has asked its employees not to come among the people coming to steal as these thieves can attack and hurt their employees. According to reports, San Francisco has become the hub of organized retail crime in the recent past. Surprisingly, many thieves sell stolen goods around these stores. It may be recalled that the rise in unemployment due to corona crisis is being attributed to these rapidly increasing cases, though a law is also being termed as important by many.
In fact, in 2014, a law was passed in California that would put theft of goods worth less than $950 in the category of trivial offences and not be counted as a serious offence. Many people are carrying out shop lifting by taking advantage of the rising unemployment and this loophole in the corona crisis.
