WASHINGTON: A woman says she was raped by her step-uncle since she was 12. She had been pregnant 4 times by the age of 18. The accused uncle was then allowed to visit the child. The case is in the U.S. state of Alabama, where a law banning abortion altogether has been passed.
There is a lot of opposition to this law. In the same order, an aggrieved woman has tried to prove from her own example of how the law in Alabama is useless to women. Alabama is a state where there is no arrangement to prevent the victim from visiting the victim even after the rapists or close-in-ones give birth to the child. Jessica Stallings, a 32-year-old woman, says she became pregnant four times because of the rape. Once he got a miscarriage, a child died. Right now they live with 2 children.
On the other hand, the accused uncle Lenian Barnett was not prosecuted for rape. Even the family members got married. However, the marriage was canceled by the court because the relationship was between the family members. The DNA test also proved that the father of those children is Lenian. The accused, Lenian, sought the right to meet both children (15 and 12 years old) when he was sentenced to life in prison in a drug-related case. A justice also allowed her to meet the baby for three days on Christmas Eve.
