Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is going through a very poor phase as the team has lost six matches in a row. Virat Kohli led RCB have struggled to get going and have become the joint-first team to lose six consecutive matches at the beginning of a new IPL season. Disappointed with the team’s dismal show, many fans want Kohli to step down as RCB captain. At a time when most of the fans are blaming Virat, former Indian cricketer Akash Choprathrew his weight behind Kohli and explained why he isn’t in the favour of him being sacked as RCB skipper.

In a video Chopra said, “Many fans are of the view that Kohli is a bad captain and he should be sacked from the position. I will tell you who a captain is. A captain is just like the nail which holds a painting. People always praise the painting, never the nail. And if he is a bad captain, how come the Indian team performs so well? When he leads India, people say his team is very good. When RCB lose, we say the captain is bad. In my view, he is not a bad captain, but the captain of a weak team. I am not worried, I won’t sack him.”

We can't keep giving excuses every game: Kohli after sixth consecutive loss

Kohli at the post-match presentation ceremony, "We thought 160 would be competitive, but we kept losing wickets at regular intervals, so I wanted to take the game deep. Even 150, had we held on to our chances, would've been difficult for them. We need to grab those chances, can't give excuses every day.”
