India launches new service for people stranded in Afghanistan

New Delhi: In view of the recent increases in Afghanistan, the Home Ministry reviewed the visa provisions. The government has announced a new category of electronic visas to fast-track applications for entry into India. A new category of electronic visa called "e-Emergency X-Misc Visa" has been created which will speed up the process of visa application for entry into India, the Home Ministry said in a statement.

 

 

The same External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India has been closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan since Kabul was ruled by the Taliban. He said in a series of tweets "We are constantly monitoring the situation in Kabul. We understand the concern of those who want to return to India. At present, the main challenge is the operation of the airport. We are in talks with the stakeholders in this regard."

At the same time, he said, "We are in constant touch with the leaders of the Sikh and Hindu community in Kabul. It will be our priority to bring them safely to our country. Commercial operations at Kabul airport were suspended today." This banned our efforts to return individuals. We are waiting for the flights to resume the process.
