The police siad, Raja Singh posted an insulting film against the Prophet Mohammad on August 22 with the objective to incite all demographic groups and disrupt public peace.

He was taken into custody on August 23 but was later released on bail. He was re-arrested as a result of irate protests in the city and other areas of Telangana.

On August 30, the city police also apprehended Syed Abdahu Quadri, alias Kashaf, under the PD Act for allegedly inciting animosity between Muslims and Hindus.

During a recent demonstration against Raja Singh, Kashaf, who describes himself as a political strategist and a social and civil rights activist, is accused of shouting "sar tan se juda."
