Islamabad: At least 100 people have lost their lives in a suicide attack on a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan. More than 200 people injured in the blast are also being treated in the hospital. Many of them are in critical condition. That is, the death toll can increase further. The extent of the attack can be gauged from the fact that the bodies of those who died in the blast on Monday afternoon continued to come out of the debris till Tuesday afternoon.

During this time, Pakistan, which has always supported terrorism, has also started realizing that terrorists have started harming their own country. After the Peshawar blast, the statement of Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has also come out. He said "The way terrorist attacks on people doing Namaz have come out in our country (Pakistan). Such attacks never happen in India or Israel.''

Pakistani media says that Khwaja Asif said in the National Assembly (Pakistan's Parliament) that, 'Those offering Namaz were not killed even in India and Israel, but this happened in Pakistan.' Appealing to the people of Pakistan to come forward together in this hour of grief, the Defense Minister has said that now is the time to fight against terrorism. He has said that we need to reform our home (Pakistan).

The Pakistan Taliban has also claimed responsibility for this deadly attack. The Pakistan Taliban is also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban. The TTP issued a statement after the blast, saying that they have avenged the murder of their leader Omar Khalid Khorasani in August last year. By openly making this claim, the TTP has also given an open challenge to the Government of Pakistan. Omar Khalid Khorasani was killed in Afghanistan in August 2022 in a car blast. Three people, including Khorasani, were killed in this attack.
