'After Joshimath, cracks in 50 houses and shops in Karnaprayag,' people in panic

Dehradun: Are cracking walls, sinking land, and crumbling houses a sign of a major disaster? After Joshimath located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, now the matter of landslide in Karnprayag is in the light. Panic spread among the villagers after the matter of landslide came to the fore. The villagers have urged the Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand to prepare a concrete action plan immediately after taking cognizance of this matter.

Let us tell you that, after the cracks in Joshimath, queues of worry started appearing on the faces of the villagers in Karnprayag. DM of Chamoli district Himanshu Khurana has informed that cracks have appeared in houses in Bahuguna Nagar of Karnprayag. He has told that the team of experts from IIT Roorkee will submit the report after studying the matter. He said that further action plans would be made on the basis of the report. The administration is on full alert mode. On the other hand, sources say that around 50 houses and shops in Bahuguna Nagar have shown cracks. After cracks appeared in the houses, people left their homes in panic and went to live with their relatives.  

Cracks were seen in 44 more houses of Joshimath on Tuesday. Now their number has reached 723. Due to this, there is an atmosphere of panic among the people. 50 more families have been shifted to relief camps. The number of damaged buildings is continuously increasing in Joshimath. According to the bulletin issued by the Disaster Management Department, the number of buildings with cracks has increased to 723.
