Agneepath: Miscreants burnt buses in Jaunpur, stone pelted fiercely

New Delhi: The protests over the Agneepath scheme are turning violent day by day. The protesters are pelting stones and torching vehicles. More than 200 youths created a ruckus between Bargudar Bridge and Lala Bazar under Sikra police station area of Jaunpur for one and a half hours. Four roadways buses were vandalized by the youths who came down with sticks on the road.

A sub-inspector's bullet and a cobra's Apache bike were set on fire. Stone pelted at the policemen. Half a dozen people including SHO Sikra Vivek Tiwari, Constable Anshuman Yadav were injured. The PAC personnel along with District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, Joint Magistrate Himanshu Nagpal, ASP Shailendra Singh, who rushed to the spot after receiving the information, took a strict stand.

Due to which the miscreants managed to escape through the fields. More than half a dozen miscreants were nabbed from the spot. The Jaunpur-Prayagraj road was blocked for one and a half hours. The common people stood at a petrol pump out of fear and waited for the bawal to calm down. The disturbance that started at 8.30 am calmed down at about 10.15 am.
