Washington: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that the resolution to designate terrorists under the 1267 list of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) should be supported by all concerned. No country should come in the middle of this. However, during this time Blinken did not name anyone, but it is believed that he was pointing towards China.

In a recorded message played at a special meeting of the Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Committee in Mumbai, he said that six US nationals were among those killed in the Mumbai terror attack in November 2008. He further said that 'We stand firmly with the people of India and all those countries whose citizens lost their lives on that day.' However, we have to do more than grieve. It is our responsibility towards the victims and people everywhere to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks to justice.

Blinken further said 'This is the reason why the US has been working with India and other partners for the last 14 years. Till the time we do not punish the perpetrators of these attacks, the message will be sent to terrorists everywhere that their heinous crimes will be tolerated. Blinken said that many members of the Security Council, including the US, have imposed sanctions against the terrorists behind these attacks. He said, 'Our efforts will be more effective when we work together. That is why we are with India to nominate many terrorists to the 1267 Committee of the UN. All concerned should support these proposals and no country should stand in their way.
