Islamabad: In Karachi, Pakistan, two employees of a mobile company were beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of being kidnappers. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in the Machchar Colony of Pakistan's commercial centre Karachi. Keemdi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fida Hussain has informed that 2 employees of the mobile company had gone to the area to check the antenna for signal.

Police have said that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the lynching of the employees. These people are accused of instigating the mob. The SSP has told that 'We have identified 8 other people. We will examine the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. Will interrogate witnesses to nab other suspects.' The official said that as soon as two employees of a mobile company reached the area in their car, some people started shouting and spreading rumours that they are kidnappers, who have come to kidnap children. He said the situation had recently become tense after children went missing from the area.

According to the initial police investigation, a crowd of around 500 people gathered following the rumour. Police Surgeon Dr Sumaiya Syed has said that 'When both the employees were brought to the hospital, they had lost their lives. They had sustained serious injuries and multiple head fractures. The post-mortem of both the employees of the mobile company has been completed and there were many injury marks on their faces and body.'
