New Delhi: The US will continue to keep in touch with India to tackle the crisis of the corona epidemic and to know India's needs. The White House said this after important US help supplies began to arrive in the country. Two US military aircraft arrived in India with large quantities of emergency medical supplies as part of the Biden administration's efforts to support India in the fight against the second wave of coronavirus.
The first consignment of supplies arrived in Delhi with C-5M super galaxy, one of the largest strategic aircraft of the US Air Force, while the second consignment was delivered to India by the C-17 Globemaster. It also includes 1,84,000 Quick Check Kits and 84,000 N-95 masks. "We will be in constant touch with the country on India's needs," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told pressmen on Friday. Psaki said External Affairs Minister Antony Blinken spoke to Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar to review the efforts of the US government in support of the Indian government's action.
Psaki further said, "She also pointed out the support from American industries, our ongoing discussions, the assistance of private institutions and private citizens.'' Overall, the US is trying to make more than $100 million in medical supplies to India. The Pentagon said more oxygen cylinders as well as oxygen concentrates, oxygen production units, additional private protective equipment (PPE), quick test kits, and medicines will be delivered in the coming week.
