According to the statement issued by the Navy regarding this matter, the Indian Navy is continuing to monitor the situation in the Gulf region. With its presence in the region, the decision has been taken to protect maritime businesses and Indian businessmen while their ships pass through this route. Indian Navy spokesman Commander Vivek Madhwal said that in the Gulf of Oman last June, The Indian Navy has launched a naval security operation 'Sankalp' after the attack on merchant ships in 2019. So that there is no crisis on the Indian ships passing through the Strait Hormuz. Now in continuation of this operation, coordination has been made with the Ministries of Defense, Ministry of External Affairs, Shipping, Petroleum and Natural Gas etc.

For your information, let us tell you that Indian Navy vessel Sumedha rescued 13 members of the crew of a private vessel in crisis during anti-robbery patrol in the Gulf of Aden. Indian Navy official gave this information on Wednesday. An Indian Navy official said a traditional wooden vessel named Al Hamid was traced through an Indian Navy helicopter launched from the deck of INS Sumedha on 6 January. It was confirmed that the vessel is in trouble and floating near the Somalia coast.
