According to sources, during the visit, the Home Minister will also take stock of the security arrangements in the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and the proposed assembly elections. This is Amit Shah's second visit to Jammu in the last five months. Earlier, Amit Shah had arrived on a visit to the Union Territory for 5 days. Amit Shah, who arrived in Jammu on Friday, had handed over job appointment letters to the kin of the brave jawans of Jammu and Kashmir who had received bravery in terrorist incidents. During this, Amit Shah said that the entire country is proud of his dedication and bravery to keep Jammu and Kashmir safe. The Modi government is committed to the welfare of all the policemen and their families of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was established on July 27, 1939, as the Crown Representative Police. Sardar Patel had given the flag i.e. 'President Colours' to the CRPG on March 19, 1950. After the implementation of the CRPF Act on 28 December 1949, it was granted the status of 'Central Reserve Police Force.'
