Amitabh Bachchan has revealed the inspiration behind the harem pants he amused fans with months ago while filming Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh was asked a question regarding his sense of style, and before answering, the contestant was shown a picture of the actor wearing harem pants.
Vaishnavi said that she wanted to interview him after Amitabh revealed to the KBC 14 audience that she is a reporter. There is a back-story to this. I saw some men from the production team wearing these pants while I was filming in Rishikesh. I enjoyed the way the pants flowed with the wind. They appeared to be very comfortable, so I thought, "Hmm, pyjamas" (I want them for myself). ventilation system ho jaata hai (It provides ventilation). They responded that they bought it at the market when I questioned them. However, when I sent some people to the market, they were unable to find it."
Added him, "After a few days, the production team's designer ordered it on my behalf and sent it to me. Now, this photograph was taken on the KBC set. I had gone to the sets for rehearsals rather than KBC. When I asked if I had to dress up in suits like I do for the shoot, they responded, "It's a rehearsal, wear whatever you want." I put on the pyjamas I had just received. I also wore a shirt because I didn't have a kurta to go with it. That is how this look came to be; it wasn't a result of fashion but rather of necessity. Additionally, this had a red pocket for keys.

Amitabh shared images from the set in July of this year, and he even created a poem to mock his own attire. "(They have given me a pyjama that appears to have been torn from a saree.) Pahanne ko dedia pyjama, laga saree ko faada, aage chhoti jeb dedi, aur peejhe laga hai naada. It has a tie-string at the back and tiny front pockets," he wrote.
