New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning again today i.e. on Wednesday. It is reported that amid this development, the activities of the Congress may see a special 'return' of senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma. It is being told that Congress may field both the G-23 leaders to defend the party's interim president and attack the ruling BJP at the Centre.

According to media reports, Sharma and Azad had not been holding a press conference at the All India Congress Committee headquarters since the letter of 23 leaders surfaced in 2020. Now it is reported that Congress is preparing to bring these two leaders to the fore. At the same time, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot can also be seen with them. Interestingly, congress workers and leaders created a ruckus on the streets during the interrogation of former party national president Rahul Gandhi by the investigating agency. It is reported that both leaders were missing during that time. At the same time, when Sonia was first summoned by the investigating agency for questioning, both the senior leaders appeared at the AICC headquarters.

According to media reports, Sonia Gandhi was first questioned for more than two hours in the case on July 21. Sonia Gandhi, the Lok Sabha MP from Rae Bareli, had then answered 28 questions from the agency. The ED had questioned his involvement with the newspaper 'National Herald' at that time and 'Young Indian Private Limited,' a company that was under the scanner in the case.
