In the 5th round, Anish Giri of the Netherlands defeated Timur Radjabov of Azerbaijan, while Aryan Tari of Norway defeated Wang Hou of China to get the full 3 points, while France's Maksim Warcher Lagrave defeated Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria and Shakhiryar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan defeated Wesley So of the USA in the tiebreak and won 1.5 points. After 5 rounds, Anand is now in the first place with 10 points, Carlsen is second with 9.5 points and Wesley So is in third place with 8.5 points.
