Andhra Cabinet approves further Rs 10-La package to Polavaram project displaced families

Andhra Pradesh State cabinet on Friday took several significant decisions, which include approving Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, education reforms, compensation to Agri-gold victims and additional Rs 10 lakh package to Polavaram project displaced families.

Information and Public Relations Minister Perni Venkatramaiah said that the cabinet approved proposals for transforming educational infrastructure and bringing in holistic academic and administrative reforms. He said the cabinet also approved for organising the YSR LifeTime Achievement Awards and YSR Achievement Awards function on August 13 and also to shift Lokayukta from Hyderabad to Kurnool in view of the opinion expressed by the High Court and also to notify the headquarters of Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission at Kurnool.

The minister further informed that the Cabinet has sanctioned approval for the revised DPR and revised administrative sanction to take up Phase-1 project works with a revised cost of Rs 5155.73 cr for the development of Greenfield port at Machilipatnam in Krishna and the draft techno-economic feasibility study report for the development of Greenfield airport at Dagadarthi in Nellore.

In addition, The cabinet approved the launch Clean Andhra Pradesh program to make the state clean. He said 1.2 crore bins will be provided in 124 municipalities and municipal corporations across the state, The State govt will be providing 14,000 tricycles in villages 1,771 were electric vehicles and 3,097 autos for collection of garbage.
