An online fraudster called Annu Kapoor on Thursday morning and conned him out of Rs. 4.36 lakh by asking for his bank account information. Following an approach to the two banks where the fraudster had transferred the funds and the freezing of both accounts, the Oshiwara police were able to recover Rs 3.08 lakh.

My account was withdrawn for Rs. 4.36 lakh in a matter of minutes. I hurried to the Oshiwara Police Station where they promptly registered my complaint and acted upon it. The money had been fraudulently transferred to two Bihar bank accounts, which were subsequently frozen.

While the police were able to recover Rs. 3.08 lakh, they are still looking for the person who withdrew the remaining money in cash.

According to Kapoor, who is currently filming Dream Girl 2, "I want to tell everyone not to share any personal details — Aadhar, OTP numbers, credit or debit card details, or any important information — over the phone.
