PUNJAB: On Saturday, Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel stopped yet another attempt at smuggling drugs from Pakistan into India after seizing a Pakistani drone that was carrying drugs in Punjab the previous day. A drone believed to be transporting illegal drugs from Pakistan was shot down by a BSF soldier close to Rai village in Amritsar, Punjab, along the international border.

Earlier, on the night between Thursday and Friday, the forces discovered a Pakistani drone that had been flying close to the International Border near the village of Rai.

The PRO for the Punjab Frontier stated that based to the smuggled item's approximate 5.5 kg gross weight, they believe it to be heroin. "On June 10, at around 4 am, BSF personnel stationed at the border reported a drone entering Indian airspace from Pakistan. In a remote area close to the Rai village in Amritsar, troops also heard the sound of something falling in a field of agriculture. The BSF troops responded right away in accordance with the established drill, the PRO continued.

During their subsequent search of the area in the prior incident, the BSF troop discovered the allegedly suspicious substance. On the outskirts of Village Rai, soldiers discovered one sizable bundle wrapped in yellow adhesive tape. A hook was used to secure the tape.

Five packets of heroin totaling 5.5 kg in weight were found when the large basket was opened. Yellow coloured sticky tape was used to wrap each one of them.

Due to their awareness, the BSF personnel were able to locate and seize the illegal goods that had been trafficked. This time, the police force assisted the BSF team during their search activities. The item found this time resembled heroin that the BSF team found in the field a few days prior. The package, which was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, was also found in a field outside the Amritsar village of Reasr Kakkar. A hook and a nylon rope in green were used to secure the parcel.
