New Delhi: The great freedom fighter Lala Hardayal was born on this day in 1884 in a Punjabi family in Delhi. Lala Hardayal was the sixth child of seven children of Bholi Rani and Gauri Dayal Mathur and his father was a district court reader. Lala is not a surname for Hardayal, but at that time it was a sub-caste designation among the Kayastha community. Not only this, they give the title of Pandit to the knowledgeable people in their caste.

Now talk about Hardayal, in the early days of his life, Arya Samaj had a lot of influence on him. Not only this but he was also joined by Bhikaji Cama, Shyam Krishna Varma and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. He was then inspired by Karl Marx, Giuseppe Mazzini, and Mikhail Bakunin and followed his own path. He attended Cambridge Mission School, St Stephen's College, He got his Bachelor's degree in Sanskrit from Delhi. After that, he took a master's degree in Sanskrit from Panjab University. After reading for a long time, he started writing harsh articles for famous newspapers in India. It is said that when the British government saw his harsh writings, he was banned. After that Lala Lajpat Rai advised him to leave India and go abroad, accepting which Hardayal reached San Francisco (America) in the year 1910. There he organized the labourers from India. After that, a letter named "Gadar" was taken out and on the basis of this the name of the party was also named "Gadar Party".

It is said that the letter "Gadar" drew the attention of the world to the atrocities being committed by the British in India. Let us tell you that many Gadar parties were founded on June 25, 1913. and the party was born in the 'Astoria' of San Francisco, America with the aim of overthrowing the British Empire. Lala Hardayal was its general secretary. By the way, let us also tell you that Lala Hardayal died in Philadelphia on March 4, 1938, but he made his place in millions of hearts.
