Feroze Gandhi, born on 12 September, was an Indian politician and journalist. He was also a Lok Sabha MP for some time. Feroze's father was an engineer at Jahangir Killik Nixon, who was later promoted as a warrant engineer. Feroze was the youngest of his 4 siblings. He had two brothers Dorab and Faridun Jahangir, and two sisters, Tehmina Karshash and Aloo Dastur. Feroze's family originally hails from Bharuch in South Gujarat, where his ancestral home still exists in Kotpariwad. The most talked-about event in Feroze Gandhi's life was his marriage. Feroze Gandhi married the country's first woman PM Indira Gandhi.

Indira went against her father Jawaharlal Nehru's will to marry Feroze Gandhi. Their love story is no less than a Bollywood movie. It is said that both met in 1930. Indira's mother Kamla Nehru fainted while staging a protest in front of a college in the freedom struggle. At that time, Feroze Gandhi took great care of her. Feroze Gandhi used to visit Kamla Nehru's house to know about her health. And both Feroze and Indira fell in love with each other.

Feroze and Indira married in 1942. But Jawaharlal Nehru was against this marriage. However, after the intervention of Mahatma Gandhi, both of them got married in Allahabad. During the Quit India movement, Feroze Gandhi was also jailed along with Indira. In 1949, Indira came to her father's house with both children (Rajiv and Sanjay). Feroze started a movement against the Nehru government and exposed many big scams. However, Feroze was old by then and in later years Feroze Gandhi's health began to deteriorate. On September 8, 1960, Feroze Gandhi died of a heart attack.
