Jaipur: Even if Sachin Pilot becomes the CM in Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot will not allow him (Pilot) to be dictatorial if he becomes the National President of the Congress. The Congress high command is in no mood to give Pilot a free hand. To keep a check on Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot can bet on making two deputy CMs. Gehlot had earlier played a similar bet on January 25, 2003. At that time, he made Kamla Beniwal and Banwari Lal Bairwa deputy CMs.

In such a situation, there is now speculation that Gehlot may bet on making two of his loyal ministers' deputy CM this time too. It is being told that if this plan of Ashok Gehlot is successful, even after becoming CM, Sachin Pilot's control will be in Gehlot's hands. Let us know that the tradition of making Deputy Chief Minister in Rajasthan was started by the BJP. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat had made Harishankar Bhabhada deputy chief minister for the first time. After this, CM Gehlot made two deputy CMs in 2003. In 2018, CM Gehlot appointed Sachin Pilot as deputy CM. At present, Sachin Pilot's name is in the race for the post of Chief Minister. The whole picture will be clear only after the Congress' organisational elections are held.

Political pundits believe that Congress can make two deputy CMs in Rajasthan to ensure that Pilot does not get a free hand. To woo the SC-ST vote bank in eastern Rajasthan, CM Gehlot is likely to make either his loyal PWD minister Bhajanlal Jatav or Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena deputy chief minister. In the 2018 assembly elections, east Rajasthan had won 39 seats. While the BJP got one seat from Dholpur in the form of Shobharani Kushwaha. In the race for the second deputy chief minister, the name of BD Kalla and Shanti Dhariwal can be placed forward.
