Guwahati: Curfew has been relaxed in some places today in Assam, which is facing tension due to the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. It has been relaxed in the capital Guwahati from 9 am to 6 pm. In Dibrugarh, there is a concession in curfew till 4 pm. The ban on internet service in Assam has been extended by 2 days. On the other hand, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal is going to Delhi with his ministers to hold talks with PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

In this meeting, CM Sonowal will inform his senior leaders about the real situation of the state. Speaking to the media on Sunday morning, Assam's Additional DGP (Law and Order) GP Singh has said, "Guwahati has been given a concession in curfew from 9 am to 6 pm." The protests in the northeastern states, including Assam, regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act are not taking a name to stop.

State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowari on Saturday informed that, in a meeting of BJP MLAs and MPs in Guwahati, it has been decided that a delegation led by CM Sarbananda Sonowal will go to Delhi to meet PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
