Assembly speaker arrives to inspect preparations for monsoon session

Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vipin Parmar on Wednesday inspected the preparedness related to the monsoon session in the Vis Secretariat. Parmar instructed the officers of the Assembly Secretariat and the Public Works Department to settle the work on time for the monsoon session to be held from September 7 to 18.

Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma, Assistant Engineer Ravi Kumar Kaundal of Public Works Department and Deepak Rawat, Assistant Engineer of Public Works Department and other officers and employees engaged in the preparation of the session were present. Parmar said that due to the worldwide COVID-19 epidemic special preparations have to be made for the monsoon season. He further said that passes will not be issued to visitors in the audience. They will be requested not to send applications for the pass.

He also asked the ministers and MLA members to bring the necessary staff in view of COVID-19, and keep the security personnel out of the premises. He said that due to COVID-19, the Assembly Secretariat complex, the House and the main gates will be completely sanitized. Necessary masks, sanitizers and other protections will be provided for the members, officers and employees of the media, who are involved in organizing the session. Seating seats of the members shall be made separately from polycarbonate sheets. All preparations are being done for the monsoon session.
