Guwahati: On the occasion of National Teacher's Day, award winners created a ruckus at a function held in Guwahati on Sunday, which drew criticism from all sides. Made a ruckus. On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Assam government presented the Meritorious Teacher Award to 36 teachers across the state.

However, refuting such allegations, a teacher from Lakhimpur, who was present at the ceremony to receive the award, said that the teachers were invited to receive the award after the national anthem was played at the meeting. He further said, "We were invited to receive the award after playing the national anthem. We opposed it because the playing of the national anthem marks the end of a meeting." He also claimed that the organizers of the event have accepted their mistake. Meanwhile, teachers staged a statewide sit-in on Sunday demanding regularization of their jobs and cancellation of the release date to resolve their long-pending issues. Mark-dated teachers also staged protests in different parts of Lakhimpur district.

In this context, Ashok Chhetri, President of All Assam Exit Date Victim Upper Primary School Teachers Association and Secretary Mahajyoti Sarma and Fazrul Haque said, "The current Chief Minister cum former Education Minister said this at the teacher appointment letter distribution function held in Guwahati. From the date of issue of 5th February of the current year, before the issuance of the Assam Assembly Election Notification, the affected schools will be provincialized by bringing them under the purview of the Provincialization Act, but the problem has not been resolved yet, due to which many of the aggrieved teachers we Going to retire soon without getting a single penny in the name of salary for his dedicated services."
