New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is visiting India these days. She has come on a four-day journey. Addressing the 'India Economic Summit', Hasina has given a big statement on the ongoing religious conflict in South Asian countries. She said that South Asian countries should rise above the mindset of minority and majority as pluralism is the strength of this region. The Bangladeshi PM said that South Asian countries should manage their geopolitical realities through friendship and cooperation and not compromise long-term interests for short-term gains.

Giving an example of this, she said that his country is trying to resolve the issue of 11 lakh refugees from Myanmar through dialogue. She said that South Asia should emerge as a region which is interconnected, friendly and competitive and always ready to connect with other regions. Establishing contacts will open doors for us to cooperate with each other and increase business. Hasina said that when she looks at the next decade, she feels that some principles should be followed.

First, it should ensure peace, stability and harmony for every person in all our societies. Second, we must also ensure that the gap of inequality in our societies is not widened further. The creation of wealth must be inclusive and reach a lower level. Let us tell you that Sheikh Hasina comes from the family of a prominent fighter of Bangladesh liberation struggle.
