New Delhi: Social activist-advocate Sudha Bhardwaj, accused in Bhima Koregaon case, has filed an appeal in the special court of NIA. In this appeal, she has demanded the court to order the investigating agency NIA and public prosecutor Prakash Shetty to withdraw the 'false allegations' against her.

In her four-page application sent to the NIA Special Court, Sudha Bhardwaj has pleaded with the court that she should be tortured for the irresponsible and abusive attitude of NIA and Prakash Shetty. She has written this application on 14 December. In Bhima Koregaon, Maharashtra, violence erupted in January 2018. She was arrested in August 2018 on charges of violence.

Sudha Bhardwaj has said in her application that the allegations made by NIA are completely baseless and without any evidence. She said that she is an undertrial prisoner and there is no evidence that she will harm any witness. Sudha Bhardwaj further wrote, "I have spent more than 20 years serving people". Sudha Bhardwaj also said that the prosecution cannot be allowed to defame and make false allegations only because they are an accused.
