Thane: The Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC) in Maharashtra has recently made a big announcement. In fact, the Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation says that due to the lack of adequate health facilities in the homes, it is mandatory for pregnant women to have hospital deliveries. According to the news, this decision has been taken due to the deaths of maternities occurring while giving birth to the child.

Under this decision, now women will have to be taken to the hospital for delivery, it will be mandatory. Giving information about this, the health officer of the city unit, Dr. KR Kharat, has told. He says that the corporation has taken cognizance that due to delivery in slums and rural areas, many times the pregnant woman and child die. Apart from this, he has also reported that 'There are about 12,000 to 13,000 deliveries a year in Bhiwandi town, out of which 3,000-4,000 deliveries are done in homes.'

He has further said in his statement that, 'Mother and child do not get proper health benefits during childbirth in homes. Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Asiya has decided to implement the Arogya Sakhi program compulsorily and to make deliveries in hospitals mandatory. With this, speculations are being made that there will be relief in the case of these deaths. It remains to be seen how successful this decision is.'
