Union Minister of State for Information Technology and Electronics Rajiv Chandrashekhar said on Tuesday that strict IT rules are expected to be notified in the next 7 days to deal with 'deepfakes'. He has said that the platforms' compliance with the advisory issued regarding deepfakes is mixed.

Sachin Tendulkar also became a victim of deepfake, said this on the misuse of technology: He has spoken about this that the government had already made it clear to social media and online forums that if its opinion on 'deepfake' is completely followed. If this is not done, new IT rules will be brought. Chandrashekhar said in a separate conversation during a program, "The attitude on the level of compliance has been mixed. I had said at the time of the advisory that if it is found that the advisory is not being fully complied with, then we will clearly amend the IT rules in this regard and notify it.

He has said that the revised IT rules are likely to come in a week. Continuing his point, the Minister said that "what was in the consultation is now going to be included in the IT rules." We hope that this can happen in the next one week. Chandrashekhar visited the boat manufacturing unit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi, on the occasion of National Startup Day on Tuesday. He interacted with the employees and co-founder Aman Gupta there.
