Amritsar: In separate incidents along the Indo-Pak border in Punjab, border security force (BSF) personnel have gunned down a Pakistani "intruder," as well as a drone. Officials gave information in this regard on Thursday. BSF officials said on Thursday that a middle-aged man who crossed the border and entered the Indian territory on Wednesday evening in a forward area of the Amritsar sector was killed.

A BSF spokesman said the troops challenged the intruder,  but he did not stop and kept moving forward. Sensing an imminent threat and to prevent further misadventure, BSF jawans fired at the intruder in self-defence, killing the Pakistani intruder on the spot.

In a separate operation carried out by the BSF on Wednesday morning, the BSF had also shot down a Pakistani drone near Havelian village in the same sector. He said the white quadcopter drone (DJI Phantom 4 model) became ineffective when it was coming to India from Pakistan.
