Gopalganj: The administration in Bihar's Gopalganj district saved a minor girl from becoming a child bride. During this, Thave police have also taken 30-year-old groom and the 12-year-old groom in custody. In the charge of getting married to a minor, the police has taken custody of the boy and girl's parents along with the Pandit who got married. This action has been taken after the Gopalganj Women's Helpline informed the police.
Actually, in Thave Durga temple complex of Gopalganj, many couples get married every day. A special couple had also reached for marriage. The manager of the Gopalganj Mahila Helpline was informed about this. Subsequently, the matter was reported to Sadar SDM by the Women's Helpline. It was told in the information that a 12-year-old minor girl is being married to a 30-year-old man in a private guest house in Thawe. After this information, the team of the women's helpline raided the private guest house here with the help of Thave police and took the young man and his family in custody by marriage to the minor bride from the spot.
The 30-year-old's name is Munna Singh, son of Jamadar Singh, a resident of Sahebchak, Mirganj. She was being married to a 12-year-old minor from Turkaha in Nagar police station. Here the bride and groom had also formed an alliance for marriage. Meanwhile, the police reached there and halted the wedding.
