Aurangabad: Security forces have recovered two IEDs and foiled a major conspiracy of Naxalites. Naxalite organizations in Naxal-affected areas have called for a boycott of elections. Despite this, in the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections, voting on 71 seats in 16 districts is going on from 7 am on Wednesday, amidst tight security. Of these, 35 assembly seats are Naxalite affected.
Meanwhile, 153 battalion of CRPF recovered IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in Dhibra police station area of Aurangabad on Wednesday. Both the bombs were planted under the bridge here, but CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) spotted and defused them in time. Aurangabad SP Sudhir Porika said that if it had exploded, there would have been huge damage. The Naxalites were seeking to harm the security forces by detonating the bomb. Both these bombs were planted under a bridge on Baluganj Baranda Road in Dhibra police station area, but the plans of the Naxalites were again demolished by the CRPF. Despite the seizure of the bomb, the enthusiasm of the people to vote has not diminished and voters are continuously arriving at the polling booth.
It is noteworthy that out of 71 seats in the first phase, 35 assembly constituencies are affected by Naxalites. Of the 71 seats in the first phase, 35 Naxals are affected. Areas that have been declared as Naxalite affected include Katoria, Belhar, Tarapur, Munger, Jamalpur, Suryagarh, Patdhari, Paliganj, Chainpur, Chenari, Sasaram, Karakat, Goh, Obra, Nabinagar, Kutumba, Aurangabad, Rafiganj, Gurua, Kurtha, Arwal, Ghosi, Jehanabad, Makhdumpur, Sherghati, Imganj, Barachatti, Bodhgaya, Tikari, Govindpur, Rajauli, Sikandra, Jamui, Jhajha and Chakai. Paramilitary forces have been deployed at all booths. Voting is to be held in three phases in Bihar. Today, in the first phase, 01 thousand 66 candidates are in the fray. These include 952 males and 114 females. The second phase will be voted on November 03 and the third phase will be voted on November 07. The results will come on 10 November.
