Birthday special : Mithoon is a lot more than 'disco dancer'

Mithun Chakraborty also was known as Mithun da has been winning hearts of people through his exceptional dancing and acting skills. 
His presence lightens the mood of the screen. This is a sure thing that the Indian cinema is going to remember him forever. 
The actor danced on the tunes of disco dance and the hook step was done amazingly by him that he was nicknamed ‘disco dancer’ . his dancing skills are appreciation worthy.
But only a few people know that before becoming the disco dancer because of the amazing dancing skills he had already earned many awards from his debut in the Bollywood. Only some people are aware of his real-life story, of all the struggles he faced to reach the place that he is today at. His patience is commendable.

Today, as he turns let us revisit the past to bring out a collection of some of his iconic works out of his total 350 films.

1. Mrigayaa 

 Mithun had played the character of Ghinua, a tribal archer. 
The film was based on a short story by Oriya writer Bhagbati Charan Panigrahi. Mithun’s acting was appreciated as he brought out the realness in the film. He got National Award for Best Actor and the film won the National Award for Best Film. His acting got the perfect stage. 

2.Agneepath 

Although his role wasn’t that of the lead it should be noted that the character that he played of a  South Indian Krishnan Iyer left the audience baffled in spite of sharing the screen space with the big star Amitabh Bachchan. His performance earned him a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.


3.Guru 
Mani Ratnam's Guru which is based on the real-life story of Dhirubhai Ambani featured Mithun as  Manik ‘Nanaji’ Dasgupta The movie also had Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. 
He simply owned his character  by his acting and again won him Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
