The main opposition party BJP has also joined the tune of Ashok Gehlot Government to postpone elections in 129 local bodies of the state. BJP also believes that elections are not possible at the moment due to corana. In this case, it is better if the commission postpones the election. BJP believes that we do not want elections at the cost of people's lives.

BJP spokesperson Ramlal Sharma said that we do not want elections at the cost of the lives of common people. He also told that if elections are held, it should be ensured that the Corona Guidelines of the Central and State Governments are fully followed. The State Election Commission met with representatives of political parties on Thursday to take their decision on the body elections and get their views. The meeting was chaired by the commissioner of the commission, PC Mehra.

The UDH department of the state government had recently written a letter to the State Election Commission requesting the postponement of local body elections. To answer the letter of the state government, after meeting with various departments, the Commission has to know the views of representatives of political parties. Now the commission will send a reply to the state government. According to the sources of the Commission, the Commission is also not in favor of conducting elections. However, the commission is yet to take a final decision. But it is believed that the commission will send a reply to the government soon.
