Guwahati: it will field candidates in six more constituencies, besides its allocated 24 seats, according to the alliance agreement with BJP , said the AGP on Tuesday. Atul Bora who is the president of AGP said in these six seats, they will have a friendly contest with BJP.
Bora told media that "We had several rounds of discussions with BJP for the alliance. We are discussing to make the alliance, not to break it. We want to establish an anti-Congress government in the state we have to take certain decisions now. We know if both the parties field candidates, it might help the Congress. But finally, we have selected these six constituencies where we will have a friendly contest.
Earlier, the BJP's state unit expressed unhappiness when AGP announced its list candidates for more than 24 seats. There were talks of even breaking the alliance over conflicts on the number of seats.
