Kolkata: Senior BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari, who left the Trinamool Congress (TMC), held a rally in Kontai in his home town east Midnapore district on Thursday. At the rally, he said that he was right in the BJP's hand and the people have accepted it. He said that in West Medinipur, I and Dilip Ghosh have made the sandy soil of the Bay of Bengal and the red soil of Jangalmahal and now I will sleep only after the Lotus blooms.

"This roadshow shows that I took the right decision and it has got the approval of the people," the Shubdu official further said. Shubhendu Adhikari is now going to address a rally in Nandigram on the 8th of January. Earlier, Shubhendu had his first rally as BJP leader in Burdwan on Tuesday.

The East Midnapore district is considered to be a non-discriminatory fort of the Trinamool Congress, more than the party, it is dominated by the family of the Shubhendu Adhikari. Now, when the Shubhendu Adhikari has changed the party, both TMC and BJP are making all efforts to show their strength in the district.
