Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has suffered a major setback after the announcement of assembly bypoll dates in West Bengal. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Suman Roy has quit the party and has joined Mamata Banerjee's party Trinamool Congress (TMC). Partha Chatterjee of TMC said that BJP MLA Suman Roy from Kaliaganj is joining us for the development of Bengal and North Bengal.

Partha said he wants to keep the culture and heritage of Bengal intact. I have come here as the general secretary of the party to re-induct my former colleague, he added. After joining the TMC, Suman Roy said that I was a student of TMCP. She joined the BJP and won for them with a ticket, but my heart was in TMC. People have blessed TMC in 213 seats. Our leaders, north Bengal and Bengal are doing a lot of work for the development.

Suman said, 'It was my fault that I went to the BJP. I've apologized to her. Many people were waiting for me to return to the TMC.' Regarding the Bhavanipur seat, Partha Chatterjee said that elections are a part of democracy. We had announced Mamata's name for Bhavanipur a long time ago. Mamata Banerjee will win the election by a record margin.
