According to reports, the car belongs to BJP MLA Yogesh Verma, which is registered in the name of his wife. After the entire incident, the police have taken the Scorpio car and its driver into custody.
The entire case is being reported from Lakhimpur-Bahraich road in Lakhimpur Kheri, where a black Scorpio hit 20-year-old Ravi (20) and his 22-year-old cousin Manish near Rampur when the duo were on their way home riding a bike. They died a painful death after being crushed by a speeding Scorpio car here. As per the information received so far, both the deceased are residents of Village Kiratpur village under the Kheri police station area. They had come to Rampur for some work and the accident took place when they were returning home. Now at this time, after the death of the two youths, there is a commotion in the family. Police, who rushed to the spot after getting information about the case, have taken the driver of the Scorpio car, Munendra, into custody.
The Scorpio car is said to be owned by Sadar MLA Yogesh Verma, which is registered in the name of his wife Neelam Verma. According to the information, the Sadar MLA was not present in the car at the time of the accident caused by the Scorpio car. Additional Superintendent of Police Arun Singh said that two youths were killed in a collision between a bike and a Scorpio near Rampur on Lakhimpur-Bahraich road. Meanwhile, the Scorpio car and the driver, Munendra, who was caught on the spot, are linked to the Sadar MLA of Lakhimpur Kheri Yogesh Verma. Appropriate action is being taken after investigating the matter and the police have taken the driver into custody along with the capture of the Scorpio car from the spot.
