Raipur: There is a political tussle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the issue of rapid conversion of Hindus in Chhattisgarh. The BJP has been consistently accusing the Bhupesh Baghel government of encouraging religious conversions and not taking action in this regard. Meanwhile, Congress communication chief Sushil Anand Shukla has made sensational allegations against the BJP.

Congress leader Sushil Anand says that RSS and BJP leaders are converting people by becoming priests. Then in Raipur, their own leaders shout at conversion. There should be a high-level inquiry into the matter. He further said that the BJP is only engaged in low-level politics. Bjp spokesperson Sanjay Srivastava termed the congress charge as a "comedy" and said it was an ideological transition of the  Congress. Conversions are taking place under the protection of the state government.

On the other hand, Arun Pannalal, an office-bearer of the Christian society in Chhattisgarh, has also given a statement on this issue. He has said that political allegations are being made during the election season. We want peace in the country. Come to our church and see what we do and don't do.
