BJP MP Locket Chatterjee says, 'Bengal government not allowing to perform Saraswati Pooja'

In the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, BJP member Locket Chatterjee alleged that the Bengal government is not allowing people to celebrate Saraswati Puja in the state. She also termed the anti-citizenship amendment law (CAA) demonstrations as a politics of appeasement.

When the opposition members in the House were opposing the controversial comment of BJP MP Anant Kumar Hegde on Mahatma Gandhi, Locket said, 'The situation in Bengal is such that people are not allowed to celebrate Saraswati Puja.' Jaydev Galla of TDP raised the issue of lathi charge on people protesting against the Jaganmohan Reddy government.

They were opposing the government's move to pass the Andhra Pradesh Decentralization Bill in relation to the creation of three capitals of Andhra Pradesh. Two BJP MPs from Rajasthan, Nihal Chand, and Rahul Kaswan, raised the issue of locust attack on farms in the state.
