Jabalpur: In Shahpura Bhitoni in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur, two LPG rakes of a freight train derailed,  said railway officials on Wednesday.

The West Central Railway CPRO said that the derailment occurred when the cargo train was being positioned for unloading. More information is awaited.

"Last night, two LPG rake waggons of a freight train derailed as they were being positioned for offloading. Train mainline traffic remained unaffected. The main line's train traffic is typical. After daylight, restoration work began with siding officials present. Owner of the siding has issued a fitness certificate, according to CPRO West Central Railway.

Up to 17 coaches from these two passenger trains were seriously damaged when the accident occurred on Friday night.
