Coimbatore- Tamil Nadu: A fire reportedly broke out at a furniture manufacturing company located in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
The company's manufacturing facility for cotton beds and sofas caught fire, said authorities. According to the police, firefighters were at the scene as soon as they received word of the incident.
The fire is currently under control. The cause and exact timing of the fire are yet unknown. We're waiting on further information on the incident, said the officials.
A significant fire started earlier on March 14 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, in an old spare parts godown. There were no reported casualties in the incident.
In the Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu, a fire at a firecracker shed on March 5 resulted in the death of one woman and severe burn injuries to a number of others. Although those who were very ill were transported to Pondicherry Jipmer Hospital, the injured were evacuated to the nearby hospital and Cuddalore Government hospital.
