Lucknow: The wedding of BSP chief Mayawati's nephew Akash Anand with Dr. Pragya will take place on Sunday, March 26, in Gurgaon . The marriage was done according to Buddhist customs and here the elephant was also in the wedding theme. Akash Anand is the son of Mayawati's youngest brother Anand Kumar. At the wedding, Mayawati, the leader of the BSP, is pictured blessing Akash and his bride Pragya.. It is being told that the wedding reception will be held in Noida on March 28.
Akash Anand is the National Coordinator of Bahujan Samaj Party. The entire wedding programme took place on Sunday at Ambience Dot Resort in Gurugram. After the engagement at 7 pm, the marriage ceremony was held at 10 pm. Buddhist monks (Bhante) were called from Sarnath-Kushinagar, Lucknow to perform the marriage. After recitation of Buddha Vandana, Trisharan, Panchsheel and Paritran, the main rites of marriage were performed. The ceremony of Jaimala was also performed. The wedding rituals continue here till late night. Some pictures of groom-turned-Mayawati's nephew Akash have also surfaced, in which Akash Anand is seen in his wedding sherwani look.
The bride is a doctor named Pragya, is the daughter of former Rajya Sabha member Ashok Siddharth. Ashok is considered very close to BSP chief Mayawati. It was on Mayawati's advice that Ashok quit his job as a doctor and joined the BSP party. His daughter Pragya has completed MBBS and is preparing for MD. Only very special guests were invited to Mayawati's nephew Akash Anand's wedding. After this, many political personalities are expected to attend the reception to be held on March 28.
