New Delhi: The Narendra Modi government at the Centre has released a picture comparing night satellite images of India in 2012 and 2021. On Monday, Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Economic Survey 2021-22 on the first day of the Budget session of Parliament. He said an important theme of this year's Economic Survey is the use of new forms of data and information to monitor economic activity and growth. Sitharaman stressed that geospatial data and mapping techniques can be used to monitor, compare and represent long-term developments.

The survey also highlighted the importance of geospatial maps in conceiving data to better understand the trend, relationship and pattern. In addition to significant improvements in mapping technology, information collected from satellites, drones, mobile phones and other sources has been reported. The Press Information Bureau (PIB) shared a satellite image taken from the night of 2012 and 2021. The two photos are kept side by side. The whole of India is seen shining in the picture. 

It also shows the expansion of the National Highway network in India. It has been said that in August 2011, the network of national highways in India was 71 jars 772 km, which has increased to 1 lakh 40 thousand 152 km by August 2021, which has almost doubled.

The number of airports operating in the country (pre-flight) has also been compared. It is estimated that in November 2016, the number has increased from 62, which has increased to 130 by December 2021.

Along with this, the data of the Jal Jeevan Mission run by the Modi government since 2019 has also been shown by the map of India. Under which clean drinking water has been supplied to many houses.
