Budget Live: FM Sitharaman Meets President With Budget Copy

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu metFinance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Ministers of State Pankaj Chaudhary and Bhagwat Karad, and Finance Secretary T V Somanathan on Tuesday before the Union budget 2023 was introduced in Parliament.

The Finance Minister met the President in the Rashtrapati Bhawan as is customary before going to Parliament to deliver the Union Budget. This is Sitharaman's fifth budget presentation.

The President of India tweeted: "Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, MoS Pankaj Chaudhary & senior officials of the Ministry of Finance called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan." 

Before the Budget is presented to Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over a cabinet meeting starting at 10 am. The aspirations of the public would be reflected in the budget, MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary stated while providing information to the media.

"Every segment of society may expect UnionBudget2023 to live up to their expectations. The Modi administration has consistently served the interests of the nation's citizens "Pankaj Chaudhary, the state minister for finance for the Union, said.

Sharing details to media, MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said that the people's expectations would be reflected in the Budget. "UnionBudget2023 will meet the aspirations of every section of society. Narendra Modi govt has always worked in the favour of the people of the country", Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary said.

Sitharaman presented the pre-budget Economic Survey for 2022–2023 on January 31, the first day of Parliament's budget session.
