Hyderabad: If all goes well, the dream of bullet train in India will not take long to come true, the feasibility of the project is currently being examined by the Ministry of Railways. The Ministry of Railways has proposed to take up the Mumbai-Hyderabad bullet train project very soon. Once launched, the bullet train will reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Hyderabad from the current 14 hours to just three hours. A survey is to be conducted according to the National High-Speed ​​Rail Corporation (NHSRC).

If approved, the high-speed rail line will connect Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad through 11 stations in Maharashtra. The entire 649.76 km route will be a green corridor. The work of preparation of DPR (Detailed Project Report) is in progress. According to the press release, the proposed project covers a total of ten stations including Thane, Navi Mumbai, Lonavala, Pune, Baramati, Pandharpur, Solapur, Gulbarga, Vikarabad and Hyderabad. The rail line will cover four districts of Thane, Raigad, Pune and Solapur. A total of 1,200 hectares of land will be required in Thane district and drones are being used to survey the land required for the project.

The proposed rail corridor is planned to run along major expressways, national highways, greenfield areas, and may pass through the main roads of the intermediate city road network for high-speed rail connectivity between various cities along the corridor.
